Girls in Glasses

Sun glasses can’t make you run faster, but they can benefit a runner in other ways.

Not only do they protect against UV rays, they act as a guard to the elements and shield ones emotions from the people driving by. They are my protection from the big wide world while I’m out there exposed; the only guard I have when running all alone.

My Keanon’s have proven to be a good addition to the gear goodies. They don’t look like typical running glasses, like those Oakley’s, all narrow and alien shaped. They are big and square with polarized lenses to reduce the glare. The best part is that they haven’t fogged up; a killer to a fun run on a pretty sunny day.

If you aren’t running in glasses, you should be.

Note to self... clean the bathroom mirror and get a better lightbulb!

  1. Those are adorable! I have the alien ones and not only do they fog up anytime I breathe too hard (or stop at a water station for more than a few seconds), they also do in fact make me look like an alien. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check them out.

  2. I really like those – I think Oakleys would make me look like I take myself too seriously. And I HATE when glasses fog up – so I might have to check these out.

  3. I love my Zeals! I have three pairs that I rotate through! And I have two pairs of their goggles for skiing. I love how the lenses change color with the light. I like the ones that you are wearing, but no way could I hold them up on my petite face.

  4. Love the glasses! Seriously, why not be chic while running? I like cyclist glasses for when I run. They look kind of “dude/bro” but I have a big lumpy head so I can only pull of very sporty styles. Whatever, I rock the “small town gym teacher” look as best I can.

The only downside is good sunglasses are expensive and it takes me about 3 weeks to lose any given pair. This is why I can’t have nice things. :p

    1. Love the dud/bro reference! I’m pretty good about not losing glasses, but they bore me after a while and I want new ones. Losing them is a better excuse for buying new ones!
